We produce pig genetics, tilapia and paiche in Lago Agrio and at the Borja nucleus, across 282 hectares of which only 55 are in production. Our Borja farm was the first in Latin America to obtain the Welfair animal welfare certification.

Two trades, a single chain
The group was born with fish farming and grew with pig genetics. Today both activities share the same farms and the same commitment to animal welfare, from the genetic nucleus to the Market d'Lago counter.
Tilapia and paiche in Lago Agrio
The business started in 1995 with tilapia farming and continued with the import of genetics from the United States in 2000, when the company trained more than 2,000 people from the region alongside the Nueva Loja prefecture. In 2015 it developed tilapia supermales.

Welfair audits 4 principles and 12 animal welfare criteria: good feeding, good housing, good health and appropriate behaviour. The certification of our Borja farm, in the province of Napo, was the first granted in Latin America, and it was renewed on 1 August 2025.
Unlike a regulatory inspection, the audit goes beyond legal requirements and assesses the comfort of the resting area, continuous access to water and feed, the absence of injuries and the ability of the animals to express natural behaviour.
